Quebec reports five COVID-19 deaths as hospitalizations keep dropping

The number of Quebecers hospitalized with COVID-19 has dropped by 20 to 1,074, according to the latest data from the province’s Health Ministry.

COVID-19 hospitalizations in the province are now at their lowest level in 2022.

Of those patients, 63 are in intensive care — a decrease of one and the lowest figure reported since mid-December.

The province also announced that five more deaths have been attributed to the virus.

Quebec’s death toll since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 14,173.https://datawrapper.dwcdn.net/ugPlg/696/https://datawrapper.dwcdn.net/GXBE3/690/https://datawrapper.dwcdn.net/C7ftX/781/https://datawrapper.dwcdn.net/0MlzJ/79/

With hospitalizations decreasing and a number of restrictions coming to an end, Quebec’s Health Ministry announced on Friday that it would no longer be updating its COVID-19 dashboard on weekends. However, the data remains available on the province’s open data portal at donneesquebec.ca.

Vaccinations continued at a snail’s pace, with only 10,071 doses administered on Saturday. More than 90 per cent of the eligible population has at least one dose of vaccine and just over half have three doses.
